Frequently Asked Questions

What is Solar Energy?

It is the energy generated by the suns rays using Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Panels.

The technology can be used for items from as small as calculators to panels that can supply homes and businesses.

Is my premises suitable for Solar Energy?

If you own a house with a minimum 8m2 free surface area, that is un-shaded, you will be suitable for a Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Panels.

MEB Total Limited will install, and be on call to help you maintain your system and you can start to reap the benefits of free Solar Energy whilst getting paid to generate electricity at the same time.

How much will it cost?

The price of a PV Solar Energy system depends on your specific requirements, we offer a range of 1-4KW systems which range in price from 6.5k up to 18k.

For further information and a personalised quote please send us your details and we will arrange to give you a call to discuss your options.

How much money will I save?

How much you save depends on how much you use, and how much you generate, the average household ranges from £87-£351 a year based on 50% usage, these figures do not include what you will be paid for generating your own electricity. Please also note if your energy bills go up in the next 25 years (highly possible) you'll save even more money than these figures indicate.

Our team will be happy to provide you with a personalised quote upon request.

Is it sunny enough in England?

Yes, here in England we get about the same amount of sunshine all year round as Germany, a country which currently has over 10,000 megaWatts of solar panels installed.

The system does not require 100% direct sunlight, it can produce energy in the winter as well as the bright sunny days in summer.

Will I notice a difference in power?

The only difference you will notice, is a reduction in your household energy bill.

Your kettle will boil in the same time, your lights will glow just as bright, your shower just as hot. Your energy supply will remain the same quality and power as it is today.

How do I get paid for generating energy?

You will recieve a TAX FREE payment from your current energy supplier, this amount will be adjusted annually for inflation (as detailed by the energy regulator ofgem who is administrating the governments feed in Tariff scheme). Your payment will be a monthly, quarterly or yearly payment dependant on which supplier you are with.

Renewable Energy - Solar Energy - Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Panels

Photovoltaic (PV) Panels are used to convert the sun's energy into electricity. The technology can be used for items from as small as calculators to panels that can supply homes and businesses.

The figures and graphs below are all based on projected figures, all revenue from Solar Energy generation is tax free and subject to the 25 year generation tariff, this will be adjusted annually for inflation (as detailed by the energy regulator ofgem who is administrating the governments feed in Tariff scheme) More information about FITs scheme is available at www.ofgem.gov.uk/fits
